Location: Northwest Austin, Time: 21:30-22:34
I met a young man from Corpus Cristi, he is an artist mostly in the realm of wood. He got on the bus and started asking questions about the route, then told me was exploring Austin (from Corpus). A long thin piece of wood was strapped to his bike, of oak he said. I asked what he would make of it, he responded, "whatever is asked", but usually I make some sort of name plaque of paper weight". I never caught the guy's name but we talked for over and hour on a few topics. He kept telling me that his strategy in life was to think positively, to change the channel because if you are watching TV and something came on you didn't like, then you'd change the channel. right? He believes this is possible, some say this is a fear avoiding mechanism, but it beats happy pills in my opinion. Apparently, he lives in a motel and makes woodcarvings there. During the day he rides around Austin trying to peddle (sell) his art, but also he tries to get people to make orders. Eventually, unknown (?) wants to live in nature as his Native ancestors did. We then moved on to Christianity...
He seemed to think that a man I have labeled as the "Shadow" is a victim of demon possession. I am open to this vein of thought, but I definitely know the Shadow is mentally ill. The shadow is an Af-Am man who wears a black and gray sweat suit every day with the hood pulled just to his eyes. The Shadow wears glass and sometimes gloves. Last night he was wearing a protective face mask of or a glasses mask that basketball players wear. He always has a black trash bag full f paper scraps. The Shadow never speaks, he only motions. Anyway, we talked a bit about demon possession, and good vs evil. A topic I believe extremely worthy of merit.
At Burnet rd. he jumped off and road into the night. Away from 183, or the snake beast as he had named it. gots to go.
